These poems describe an ongoing struggle between myself and other, in this case the 'other' being largely my ever-insistent ego in all its manifestations: internal, external, self, other, joy, sorrow, pleasure, pain and, of course, vanity, intellectual or otherwise. Or, on the other hand, how can I assume that that which I define as myself is not in fact solely the ego? The I which is I which is I....
